基本就是靠两个桶之间水位变化改变杠杆平衡,来带动发电的。开始时,一端的桶中有糖水,里面的酵母菌会不停发酵产生气体,产生的气体会把桶中的糖水压到另一个空桶中,空桶中有活门可以把原来的气体排出。当空桶中的糖水超过一半时,会通过杠杆把第一个桶翘起来,这样,第一个桶中的糖水就会全部流出(应该是通过虹吸之类的方法),同时第二个桶的活门关闭,第一个桶活门打开。这样,第二次循环开始,糖水发酵,糖水压到空桶,平衡改变,循环往复,直到糖水耗尽。基本原理很简单,机械设计也很简单,就是杠杆而已,唯一比较需要精确计算的就是酵母菌和糖的浓度。
