利用镭射 "印生长因子机" 来让干细胞分化成特定成熟细胞

由卡内基美隆大学（Carnegie Mellon University）及匹兹堡大学医学院（Pittsburgh School of Medicine）共同合作发展的镭射 "印" 生长因子（Growth Factor，多为蛋白质分子）技术，将让生物学家能够更容易自成熟干细胞（adult stem cell，看来目前还不能从胚胎干细胞开始实验，而且米国目前也禁止拿新的胚胎作研究）中培养出所需的目标细胞。

研究人员利用了类似激光打印机的原理，在一片 2.5 x 2.5 公分大小的培养玻片上，利用精准的激光技术，依照正确的食谱（细胞分化所需的生长因子及养分排列），分层 "喷" 上了特定细胞生长分化所需的生长因子，接着再将成熟干细胞放于顶端，一层一层的接触特定生长时期所需的适当生长因子。目前已能自骨原细胞（将来分化成骨细胞的成熟干细胞）培养出实验鼠的骨细胞，下一阶段则是锁定肌肉及软骨细胞，未来将延伸到各种类细胞。

这项技术距离成熟并应用在人体，上有一段很长的路，而将来的应用极广，尤其是用在器官移植上。
