Intel 发布 WiMAX Connection 2300 芯片组

看到目前市面上大部分的笔记本电脑都采用了 Intel wifi 芯片组，老神在在的 Intel 似乎不需要大刀阔斧的开拔 WiMAX 的领域。

事实上 Intel 脚步仍然持续迈进，约一个月前才推出整合 WiFi 的 WiMAX 芯片组 2250，现在又发表支持 WiMAX 和 MIMO 的芯片组 2300。

新的整合芯片组有着低耗能、低散热的优点，让旧设计的笔电可以轻易地改用新的芯片组。该芯片还是用相同的统一软件来执行，Intel 提供新的「over-the-air provisioning」技术，让消费者可以简易地做设定和启动服务，不像以往采用主从式架构那么麻烦。

目前我们还不知道 Intel 发言人对消费者真正的说法是如何，不过至少该芯片组的设计都大致底定了，intel 也正在作更多的测试动作，我们希望 2007 年的时候能看到这些芯片组正式现身。
