DVD Jon 透露 DoubleTwist 的 DRM 雏形

这个月稍早的时候，我们曾经报导过 "DVD Jon" Jon Lech Johansen 这位知名的黑客在水果总部后院开了家名为 DoubleTwist Ventures 的新公司，为的就是要提供更自由的 DRM 技术给唱片/电影公司及消费者。而就在 iPod 满五周岁之时，他接受了 Fortune 杂志的专访，来聊聊将如何实行这项计划。

Johansen 表示 DoubleTwist 将会以两面手法来进行新的 DRM 计划，能够让唱片公司贩卖受防盗版机制保护的产品，并在 iPod 上播放，同时也让消费者能在其它多媒体装置上播放从 iTunes Store 下载的产品，这样双向畅通的手段，让我们不得不佩服 Johansen。他同时也表示，改变水果牌 DRM 这种不合理的格式限制，是他非常重要的责任，他引用了贾伯斯在 2002 年说得一句话 " 如果你合法的得到了一项音乐产品，你就有权力在你所拥有的其它产品装置（播放器、计算机）上做你想做的更改。" 他也将这段话贴在办公室的墙上，不断的提醒自己。

然而 DoubleTwist 这样的操作模式，最终还是可能引来些法律上的问题，不过 Fortune 杂志也指出，目前水果牌并没有任何提针对 DVD Jon 或是任何人提出过与 FairPlay DRM 相关的诉讼，这也许是因为水果牌唯恐在官司上进展不顺利，可能引来一连串的负面效应，导致 DRM/iPod/iTunes 的三角关系出现了难以弥补的裂痕。也或许是因为水果牌并不想因此让任何人藉此受到大众的注意。不管怎样，DRM 还是 iPod 周围的毒刺，处理起来还是要小心的才是。
