CHT900 PS3 的 Linux 套件准备出货

虽然PS3的上市日期一延再延，可是作为Sony的3rd party，大家都十分兴奋的宣布他们专门针对PS3的新产品。底下就是一个新例。

Terra Soft Solutions公司宣称他们已经准备好专门为PS3打造的 YDL(Yellow Dog Linux)套件。这个套件是以Fedora Core 5为基础，并且加上下一代 Enlightenment 窗口管理员的YDL，至于专门针对Cell中央处理器的程序代码部份则是在巴赛罗那超级电脑中心完成的。

虽然读者们不一定有兴趣，不过这套软件宣称只要一个按键就可以把Linux装完。真是很简便啊。

另外，内含的软件组件还有：

* Linux Kernel 2.6.16
* gcc 3.4.4 and glibc 2.4
* Cell SDK 1.1
* OpenOffice.org 2.0.2
* FireFox 1.5.0 and Thunderbird 1.5.0
* Nautilus 2.1.4

有些读者可能会觉得奇怪，好好的PS3拿来玩游戏就好了，干什么要安装上Linux呢？按照Sony宣称，Cell BE处理器是目前最快的中央处理器之一，拥有比PS2快35倍的速度，一般PC的10倍或是XBOX 360的2倍速度。

想买吗？请上Terra Soft store，共两片DVD。售价有两种，一种有售后服务，一种没有，分别为99.95跟49.95美元。

既然都花了这么大把银子买了PS3，您不会介意拿来装上Linux，接上HDMI端子然后拿来剪辑家庭录像带吧？
