别想在新款麦金塔装上XP 等等 Vista 吧！

如果你已经盼望在采用 Intel 处理器的麦金塔计算机上跑 Windows 操作系统，恐怕苹果不会那么容易让你得逞的，至少苹果不会让你轻易装上 Windows XP 操作系统。

根据苹果计算机营销副总裁 Phil Schiller 的说法，前天刚发表的新款麦金塔计算机，应该无法装上目前版本的 Windows 操作系统，原因在于新款计算机使用可延伸式韧体界面（Extensible Firmware Interface，EFI）作为新的开机标准，而不是使用传统的 BIOS（近款的 Power PC 则使用 Open Firmware）。

EFI 标准为 Intel 所开发，拥有一些更先进的特色，包括在 OS 操作系统加载完毕以前就可藉由指令的方式接连因特网。由于 EFI 是在 Windows XP 操作系统发表后才开始研发，因此包括 XP 之前所有的 Windows 操作系统都无法支持 EFI 标准（然而 EFI 会支持 64 位版本，新款的 Mac 是 32 位，不过这些终将走向一致）。

因此，Windows Vista 将支持 EFI 标准，苹果也说道他们并没有计划把微软操作系统排除在新麦金塔的想法。如果喔，你是目前少数 Vista beta 操作系统的测试人员，又已经订购了新款 iMac 或 MacBookPro，新计算机拿到手后赶紧把测试光盘装进去玩玩看吧。

其它的平民百姓（就像我们）只好继续等待 Vista 正式发行，还是有那位大内高手，可以把目前的 Windows XP 骇一下，让这个即将过时的操作系统也能支持 EFI 呢？也许这是目前黑客界最热门的话题喔！
