近观 Google 在旧金山竞标 WiFi 的策略

Google 计划如何以无线网络服务攻占旧金山？尤其是在Google提供免费上网服务的条件下，该如何维持营收？PCWorld 杂志取得了 Google 为这项竞标所做的提案（旧金山市政府所收到的二十六份针对免费提供旧金山全市 300kbps 的 WiFi 无线上网服务为主题的提案之一），我们可以从中窥知一二。区域性广告很明显是 Google 打算用来赚钱的方法之一。而 Google 要为各位市民提供的是 300kbps 免费无线上网的服务，所以如果消费者想要用更快的速度上网，消费者就必需付费，Google 也会将网络空间出售给其它的 ISP 供货商们，好让供货商们能够转售高速网络。当然啦，如果 Google 的提案里面没有一丁点儿 Google 引以为傲的企业理想，那 Google 就不 Google 了。所以根据 Google 过往所秉持"不赚黑心钱"的中心原则，Google的提案里面也包含了一项声明"我们相信提供时时能连结，人人皆能负担的网络服务，对于建立人性化社会和提升经济发展来说，扮演关键性的角色，进而提供免费 WiFi 无线上网的服务，就是 Google 以该目标为宗旨而向前跨出的一大步。"只要能让Google在提供这项免费服务的过程中赚到一点儿钱，他们就会实现他们的诺言。
